Interstitial Territories

Exploring the spaces in between, where memory, identity, and history fracture and reform.

Interstitial Territories 游移疆域 investigates the concept of in-between spaces—gaps, thresholds, and ruptures that exist beyond fixed definitions. These are sites of tension, where histories dissolve and reemerge, identities are suspended and reshaped, and suppressed narratives come to light.

Drawing from Homi K. Bhabha’s notion of the Third Space and Jacques Derrida’s Hauntology, the exhibition brings together artists who engage with erased, obscured, and displaced cultural and personal fragments. Here, memory does not function as a linear remnant of the past but unfolds as a shifting present, where images and identities emerge, dissolve, and reconfigure through acts of inscription and erasure.

Through installations, text, painting, and mixed media, participating artists activate these interstitial territories—challenging conventional narratives and illuminating the unseen dimensions of lived experience.
